but is it an homage?

well, yes, it is in some ways.

i've enjoyed jesper kyd's music since i heard it in ioi's first game, hitman: codename 47. it was a cross between subtle 'electronica', classical influences, and catchy rhythmic motifs and melodies which created an atmosphere that was immediately memorable.

it was really quite a joy to find out that jesper kyd was also involved with the soundtrack for hitman 2: silent assassin. immediately, people in the know knew that we were in for another treat, and we were not disappointed - a full score written by kyd, and performed by the budapest symphony orchestra and chorus. the music was really quite astounding, and even better, it was completely different to the h1 score.

and here, in my opinion, comes my little track. i have access neither to a symphony orchestra, nor to a choir, but i do have access to a pc :). so here is my 'take' on the music from both games. it's not so much a song as a small piece of 'program' music (following a story), and i've tried to capture the essences of both the h1 and the h2 scores in a single 7minute piece. it's not meant to be a 'title' track, but rather and atmospheric rendering of an imaginary scene/story.

this track has been a bit of an experiment for me, and it's something i'd like to go back to in a few months and re-work into another new piece (not entirely sure how, but the seeds are sown :)). so comments on this one would be greatfully received. see the contact page for details.
